Objective

This symposium for international specialists, researchers and students in the area of climate change and environmental problems will be held by two research and educational projects lead by Keio University. In this symposium, research results from the Green Society ICT Life Infrastructure Project will be presented to be shared widely, and in the panel sections, researchers from international cooperative universities and organizations will discuss about prominent issues and current situations regarding the environment, climatechange and its social impact to develop the ongoing Global Environmental System Leader Program (GESL).

Session 1: Environmental Problems and Energy

The mitigation of environmental problems is discussed within the context of minimizing and dealing with the inevitable global warming. In this session, we discuss mitigation efforts within the energy sector. Discussion on the mitigation of environmental and energy problems for minimizing global warming's impact, and how to adapt to its effects.

The world has already reached the stage where global warming is unavoidable. In recent years, there has been an increase in awareness of the importance of mitigation policies to help minimize global warming and adaptation policies to help the world prepare for the adverse effects of climate change. In this session, we consider the effects of global warming on human health and debate adaptation policies.
